A Census Search, a Honeymoon Mystery, and an Unexpected Invitation

If you remember, my first search of the 1926 Census was for my grandparents, Patrick McDonagh and Susan Fennell, who had married just four days before it was taken. I was curious to see whether they were back from their honeymoon in Wales.


Irish Roots magazine picked up on that little question and invited me to write an article for their latest edition, Summer 2026.



And the answer… I won’t give away the full story here, but the latest issue of Irish Roots is well worth a look — a great resource for anyone exploring Irish genealogy and family history.
